WebKlipper does not use vs code, that is a Marlin thing. With klipper you build the firmware on typically your octopi system and then put that bin file on the sd card, then you just edit the config file from them on, you don't have to rebuild. Webfirst layer z offset different between slicers. I switched to Klipper on a Prusa i3 MK3S (using this config, newest Klipper and Fluidd). I determined the z offset with babystepping and it worked consistent with Prusaslicer. But when I used Simplify3D, the first layer was too heigh (I would say around 0.2). The same with Ideamaker.

But the very purpose of calibrating the z offset is to determine how high off the bed the nozzle is when the probe triggers. This is a catch-22.
